Use cases

Dictate into supported text fields, or record a note in Capture and edit the transcript later.

Skills send text to the AI provider you set up.

Reply to messages

Tap the bubble beside your keyboard, say the reply, check it and send. Your usual keyboard stays.

Skills: Friendly message, Work chat

How to use it
  • Text lands at your cursor in messaging and chat apps.
  • Say "question mark" or "new paragraph" for punctuation and line breaks.
  • Pick a skill on the bubble before you speak, like Friendly message in WhatsApp or Work chat in Slack.

Write email

Say what you need to say. The Email skill adds a greeting, clear paragraphs and a sign-off.

Skills: Email, Professional, Concise

How to use it
  • Use it from the bubble in Gmail, Outlook and other email apps, or in the editor.
  • Professional tidies the tone. Concise cuts what you repeated.
  • In Gmail, the bubble lists Email first, so a draft is one tap away.

Prompt AI apps

Describe a task aloud. Prompt for an agent formats it as instructions with a goal, context, constraints and what counts as done.

Skills: Prompt for an agent, Unslop

How to use it
  • Use it in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and other apps that use standard text fields.
  • Add product names, libraries and commands to Dictionary so they're spelt right.

Capture notes and ideas

Open Capture, record a note, then edit, tag and search its transcript as a session.

Skills: Notes, To-do list

How to use it
  • Search finds any word in any session.
  • Use Notes for headings and bullet points, or To-do list for a checklist.
  • Export as text, Markdown, JSON, CSV or subtitles. Keep a Notes folder in sync for apps like Obsidian.
  • On an older phone, the smallest English model is a 43 MB download and runs on phones with 2 GB of memory. English models by size

Recap meetings and lectures

Record a meeting or class with speaker labels, or import a recording.

Skills: Meeting notes, Summary

How to use it
  • Pause and resume without starting a new session.
  • Meeting notes pulls out the summary, decisions and actions. Summary gives the key points.
  • On-device speech keeps the conversation on your phone.

Type less with RSI, arthritis or dyslexia

One tap starts the microphone. Speak at your own pace and the words are spelt and punctuated for you.

  • Fix a passage by speaking at the cursor.
  • With your own AI provider set up, ask for changes in your own words, like "make this shorter".
  • Add names and terms to Dictionary to set their spelling.
  • Shortcuts turn a short phrase into text you use often.

Keep sensitive notes private

On-device speech and Basic cleanup run on your phone. Local dictation needs no ScribeKey account.

  • App lock asks for your fingerprint, face or screen lock before ScribeKey opens.
  • You choose how long saved audio is kept.
  • Password fields are refused. Nothing spoken at one is typed, sent or saved.

ScribeKey is not certified for medical or legal records. Check your organisation's rules before you use it for them.
